Aileen Brown Cuevas

Mexico

Master of Business Administration (MBA), 2020
Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford

Funding: Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann-Barnett

Aileen has been working in economics and finance for 6 years at the intersection between government and the private sector. At the Ministry of Finance in Mexico, she has played a key role in investor relations management during the oil price decline in 2014, and the Mexican peso depreciation in 2016. Her position at the Ministry required close interaction with foreign and domestic investors, creditors, analysts, rating agencies, and international institutions (IMF, OECD, G20).
Aileen became the first female Director in the Macroeconomic Research Department at the Ministry. She has since strengthened her support for initiatives for women in Mexico and has advocated for more women in management positions in government. She would like to continue to lead change through the promotion of women’s leadership, economic empowerment and financial inclusion.
