Claudia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Sao Paulo in 2015, including a one-year scholarship by the Brazilian government at Indiana University Bloomington, USA. Her interests rely on water resources, climate change, food security and urban forestry, having performed activities in Brazil, USA, Canada, Thailand, France, Australia and the Netherlands.
She has a 3-year experience in water management, having joined a European Commission’s water project (Eco Cuencas), which tackles climate change in Latin America. She has also monitored projects on Payments for Ecosystem Services within the Brazilian Atlantic Forest and the Piracicaba-Capivari-Jundiaà Watersheds.
Claudia is an ambassador for the Youth Ag-Summit/Bayer CropScience and the UN Sustainable Development Goals/World Merit, having presented an Action Plan at the UN Headquarters in New York City. She is also a contributing writer for the International Society of Arboriculture’s Arborist News magazine.
By pursuing a MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management at the University of Oxford, Claudia seeks a better understanding of the economic-political dimensions of climate change-oriented projects taking place in watersheds worldwide. In the future, she envisions herself working with natural resources management in multilateral organizations and shortening the gap between environmental science and policy in Brazil.
