I truly consider myself very lucky to be a part of the Weidenfeld Hoffmann community as all the gatherings, activities and stimulating discussions and debates with my friends during the Leadership Programme turned my year at Oxford University into a unique and amazing experience.

The Leadership Programme is a unique feature of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships. Alongside the rigours of academic study, it helps to prepare the Scholars – intellectually, professionally and practically – to take on leading positions in their chosen careers.

The Leadership Programme equips Scholars with the knowledge, skills and networks they will require to contribute optimally to public life in their countries and regions of origin and to build lasting professional links across cultures and continents.

A number of activities, some compulsory, aim to provide the holistic education needed to prepare Scholars to address the current and future global challenges in their chosen field. This includes two residentials, Moral Philosophy and Practical Skills, the WHT Enterprise Challenge, Scholars’ Debate, Collections, Leadership Forum and other opportunities including Scholar-led events.

Throughout their time at Oxford, Scholars receive support from the Weidenfeld Scholarships Team who are on hand to support and provide advice on a range of issues, academic and pastoral.

Having had the opportunity to study at the best university in the world could only be better, thanks to the existence of an institution such as the Leadership Programme. Having a group of people and professionals during one of the exciting challenges of our lives was the best way to experience Oxford and face this year. This was the best year of my life, and without the WHT it would not have been so amazing.
