Diana earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 2014, graduating with the highest score in her class. While studying, she participated in several development projects in Mexico and abroad. She acted as a one of the five Youth Representatives of Mexico at the G20 Youth Summit in Toronto, Canada in 2010; she participated as volunteer and coordinator in children education projects in Nepal and Mexico; she acted as Research Methodology Leader of a human rights organisation called Museo Itinera; and she collaborated with the organisation Puertas Abiertas in the design of a project proposal for people with disabilities. Currently, she works on an initiative against gender-based violence, called No Somos Medias Naranjas, which she co-founded and which seeks to raise public awareness and prevent violence against women in Mexico. She is pursuing the MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Oxford because of her interest in promoting poverty alleviation, food security, gender equality and sustainability in Mexico. As a result, after completing her degree, Diana intends to develop, through non-governmental organisations or international institutions, grassroots projects to promote food security in her country through an ecofeminist perspective.
