I attended Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) for a BA in Economics. Prior to this, I stood first in the country out of 1.2 million Indian students- and with the highest aggregate till date- in my school leaving examination. I have previously interned at the policy think tank ICRIER and in the Office of the Principal Economic Adviser to the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. I have also published an empirical paper on bilateral investment treaties, which went on to win a best paper award at a World Bank sponsored conference of South Asian economics researchers. I have further volunteered for
18 months at the international nonprofit Enactus, helping women manual scavengers, traditional Indian puppeteers and impoverished dairy farmers raise incomes and improve their living conditions in a sustainable manner. While in college, I served as the Chief Coordinator of SRCC’s annual economic summit, the Convenor of the TEDxSRCC conference, and the initiator of a nonprofit intervention in the education sector called ‘The SRCC Open Courseware Initiative’.
Within economics, I am most interested in international trade and development, while I ultimately wish to formulate economic policies for the Indian government.
