Zamiyat has a BSc in Communications and Multimedia from the American University of Nigeria where her research focused on the Boko Haram crisis and opportunities for social activism through social media/internet for women in Nigeria and West Africa. As a student Zamiyat created a social media campaign to counter religious extremism she also worked on social intervention projects for Boko Haram-affected communities for international NGOs.

Zamiyat is looking forward to participating in the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann leadership program and
her course at the Oxford Internet Institute in order to become better equipped to devise informed, research-based intervention programmes.
