Since 2007, the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships have been supported by a wide range of generous donors and partners, who have funded Scholars from specific countries and courses each year. Our partnership with Chevening UK the UK Government’s international scholarships programme, currently provides three scholarships annually.
In 2022, the Hope Scholarships were established for talented individuals displaced by conflict, persecution or other human rights violations. Through the generous support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust, the Younger Family Fund, the Blavatnik Family Foundation, GRoW @ Annenberg and Mansfield and Worcester colleges and with the support of the University of Oxford, the Trust has been able to support 19 Scholars. Whilst we no longer have a separate fund to support scholars who find themselves displaced from their home countries or regions, we warmly welcome their applications to the core WHT programme.
Between 2012 and 2022, the Louis Dreyfus Fondation d’Entreprise (LDF) generously funded 95 scholars from 40 mainly low and middle income countries. The strength of the partnership lay in the close alignment of regions and sectors of interest such as food security, sustainable solutions for rural communities, and educating future leaders particularly in countries and regions where the Foundation was active.
Since 2018, the Saïd Business School and the Blavatnik School of Government have provided funds to support the Leadership Programmes for MBA and Master of Public Policy Scholars.
In 2025, we strengthened our partnerships with eight Oxford University Colleges: Keble, Lincoln, Mansfield, St Edmund Hall, Trinity, Worcester, St Antony’s, with St John’s joining the WHT from 2026-27. These partnerships are key in providing a supportive community for our scholars contributing significantly to their overall Oxford experience and enabling them to participate fully in college life. This mutually beneficial partnership ensures that our partner colleges share in the wonder of talented, passionate, and diverse international scholars.
From 2026, we have also entered into a landmark partnership with the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) to jointly support outstanding Pakistani graduate students at the University of Oxford. The OPP is a home-grown initiative led by Pakistani academics and alumni, working in close partnership with the University of Oxford to raise the profile of Pakistan-related scholarship and open doors for Pakistani students at Oxford.
