Samuel Dhol Ayuen is a Medical Doctor from South Sudan currently a DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford while working as a Project Manager for malaria research projects for the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) at the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory at Oxford.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Before coming to Oxford he worked at Modern Care Clinic and Unity Medical Centre in Juba, South Sudan where his work focused on the provision of health services to internally displaced persons and the underprivileged on the outskirts of Juba. He had previously worked as a health and social advocate in refugee camps hosting South Sudanese, Burundian and Congolese refugees in Uganda. He intends to return to South Sudan and use his knowledge and skills to combat the tropical diseases that the South Sudanese populations are grappling with.
