Tsionawit is currently the Economic Inclusion Lead for World University Services Canada (WUSC). Prior to this she was the Deputy Chief of Party at the Danish Refugee Council in Ethiopia and worked in humanitarian organizations conducting research and delivering assistance to refugees and migrants across the Horn of Africa. Tsionawit founded and served as the president of Yenesew, a short term Covid-19 relief project using digital fundraising to support vulnerable households. She has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Sociology from the University of Tasmania.
