Since 2007 the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships have been supported by generous independent donors, who have funded a number of Scholars each year from specific countries and studying certain courses. Other donors have enabled us to create, develop and maintain our leadership programme.

We are grateful to all these donors for their continued support and commitment to the vision and aims of the Trust.

Hoffmann Foundation

In addition to the substantial donation made to the Endowment Fund, the Fondation Hoffmann has supported a total of 30 Scholars since 2009 for graduate study in the fields of environmental management, conservation or development. In 2017 a new partnership was created with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Chevening Scholarships Programme to enable up to ten Scholars to join the cohort annually for three years. We received eight Weidenfeld-Hoffmann/Chevening Scholars in 2017-18 and a further  eight in 2018-19. In 2019-20 we welcome 3 Weidenfeld-Hoffmann/Chevening Scholars thanks to this partnership.

Louis Dreyfus Foundation

Since 2012 the Louis Dreyfus Fondation d’Entreprise has very generously funded 82 Scholars from 37 different countries. The Foundation works to promote projects in the areas of sustainable agriculture, food security and self-sufficiency, and to support Scholars committed to returning to work in these areas in their home countries.

Annenberg Foundation

We are very grateful to Grow @ Annenberg, who have enabled  eight scholars  to join the programme since 2014 through their support for young leaders from emerging and transitional economies.

Arcadia Fund

Arcadia Fund supported 20 Scholars from the United States between 2008 to 2013, to foster a transatlantic Scholarships community. Arcadia also funded the development of our Alumni programme during 2013-14. In 2015, the Fund generously agreed to provide support for two new Weidenfeld-Oxford Scholars.

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants

Between 2010 and 2015, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants supported five postgraduate students per year from North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia aiming to promote human rights and human dignity in their home countries. In total 19 students have been supported by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

Barbara Walters

US broadcast journalist and author Barbara Walters provided generous support for one Scholar during the 2014/15 academic year.

The Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme is also indebted to an anonymous donor for their vision and willingness to provide initial funds for up to 25 Scholars per annum for the first five years of the programme.

Eranda Foundation

Thanks to the generous support of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild Eranda Rothschild Foundation provides an annual Max Weidenfeld Travel Grant in the name of Lord Weidenfeld’s father for Scholars to participate in study trips or research and professional development opportunities overseas who might not otherwise have the means.

We remain immensely grateful for our core partnership with the University of Oxford.

Blavatnik School of Government

Our partnership with the Blavatnik School of Government has secured reduced fees for the Master of Public Policy, and circa ten Scholars each year attend the School. We work closely with the BSG and are grateful for their ongoing support.

Saïd Business School

We have a strong partnership with the Saïd Business School and three MBA Scholars benefit annually from their subsidised support. We work with the Entrepreneurship Centre on our Enterprise Challenge and look for further opportunities to collaborate with the School.

Blavatnik Family Foundation

In 2019 we received the secong of two generous donations thanks to the Blavatnik Family Foundation, to promote the presentation of new ideas, the interchange of views, and further contacts, between those taking part in the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.

The Trust would like to thank Mrs. Robin Hambro for her long-standing support of the 品德理念研讨会 – the cornerstone of the Leadership Programme.
