Alaa NM Abushahla is a dedicated medical professional from Gaza, Palestine. Alaa received her medical degree from Al-Quds University, after which she worked as a paediatric teaching assistant at Al-Azhar University, Gaza. She has instructed and trained medical students in a variety of paediatrics-related disciplines while providing support and mentorship to them.

Alaa also spent a number of months volunteering as a healthcare provider during the war in Gaza, providing vital healthcare to thousands of displaced families living in shelter camps. Driven by a commitment to make a lasting impact on healthcare, she aspires to obtain an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine and contribute to the rebuilding of healthcare infrastructure in her hometown. Her focus is on creating a more equitable healthcare system, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children and women.
