Ana Lucia graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico in 2016. Prior to coming to Oxford, she worked as a law clerk in the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice, on human rights violation cases.
Ana Lucia previously worked as a legal analyst on a project to improve gender equality in the Ministry of Energy and as a research assistant at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights in the field of victims´ rights and transitional justice. Ana Lucia was a teaching assistant at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, in the courses “Constitutional Theory” and “Legal Theory Seminar”.
Ana Lucia is currently a DPhil candidate in Law at Oxford, where she is also the 2023 Deputy-Chair of the Oxford Pro Bono Publico Committee, a student-led organization that provides pro bono legal research to assist non-profit organisations that work for the public interest.
Before coming to Oxford as a WHT scholar, Ana Lucia was a judicial assistant in the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice. After her year at Oxford, she worked as a Senior Legal Officer in a feminist NGO in Mexico that aims to improve access to justice for women.
