Fatima earned her BA in Economics at the American University of Central Asia. Currently, she works at the School of Leadership, Afghanistan, in Rwanda. She also works at the strategy consulting firm - ConsumerCentriX, focusing on entrepreneurship, SME development, inclusive finance, policy dialogue and regulation in developing countries. Previously, Fatima was a senior specialist at the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan. Regrettably, her work there was cut short when the Taliban eliminated all the positions for women in August 2021. Fatima has authored several articles for BusinessDNA magazine, examining Afghanistan’s local market economic performance. At this moment when education is forbidden for women in Afghanistan, for Fatima, the ability to attend Oxford is an unimaginable privilege. Her goal is to play a role in making Afghanistan a stable and thriving country.
