Hanbit is an aspiring researcher interested in the intersection of engineering and public policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST).
She is a research intern at the International Institute for Advanced Systems Analysis (IIASA), currently working on a new model that links bottom-up energy and resource needs with climate scenarios. She is also a member of Young Future Energy Leaders, a Khalifa University initiative for young professionals in sustainable energy. Hanbit has two years of research experience at KAIST’s Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab, where she developed agent-based models for socio-economic analysis and worked on government projects.
Additionally, she interned at McKinsey Seoul Office and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). At IRENA, Hanbit contributed to official reports on sustainable bioenergy and green hydrogen for the industry. She plans to continue her research on decentralised energy systems for building resilience.
