In 2016, she graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) in Psychology in the First Class as a Mandela Rhodes scholar. Her research focused on the impact of HIV-associated neurocognitive impairment on driving ability. Throughout her studies she tutored both Psychology and Xhosa, as well as volunteered for various organisations. A personal highlight was volunteering as a counsellor for LifeLine Western Cape and serving as a mentor for the MH Foundation.
Julia then moved back to Johannesburg where she worked at a school, designing and running group workshops on the topics of anxiety and mindfulness. She also volunteered for eduSOIL, an organisation centred on fostering the growth and potential of young children through mindfulness and yoga.
Julia is currently a Consultant at The Bridgespan Group in the Johannesburg office. She is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
