Kapil did his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He initially worked for three years with Procter and Gamble producing plastic packaging and then switched his career to find solutions to plastic pollution. He worked on environmental policy and implementation at multiple levels of governance partnering with civil society and government. As a feminist-environmentalist, Kapil sees himself working towards integrating issues of environmental justice and biodiversity conservation in the future.
Kapil is currently pursuing a PhD at King's College London where he is focusing on the human dimension of forest fires in India. In his work, he is guided by his love for the Himalayas and the life that inhabits there.
