After obtaining a Masters in Development in 2017, Kavya coordinated a project called “Reclaiming Our Sovereign Food Systems”, working together with the Kondh indigenous people of south Odisha on reviving their traditional agricultural practices through farmer-exchange workshops, food-festivals and seed exchanges, discussions between youth and elders, and organizing for filing of Forest Rights claims. Before coming to Oxford she was an intern at FIAN International where she assisted the South Asia desk on its work on the Right to Food and Nutrition in the region.
