Manan is currently a Fellow in Residence at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) in Bengaluru, India where he leads on public-facing action research to help ensure that land use becomes and remains an ally in fighting climate change. In June 2022 he completed a PhD (with Distinction) from the Universität für Bodenkultur (BOKU) in Vienna, Austria. His research focussed on the impacts of land use change and its drivers.
Manan had a fellowship on disaster risk reduction at the University of Geneva, exploring the intersection between disaster management and climate adaptation policies in India.
Manan is based in Bengaluru, India.
