Marcela is a Human Rights Officer at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Honduras. In 2018, she co-founded the National Encounter of Women for the Right to Choose, gathering more than three hundred women leaders and representatives of vulnerable sectors to discuss the primary issues Honduran women face: social inequality, reproductive health and gender-based violence. She holds a bachelor's degree of Law at UNAH (National Autonomous University of Honduras), a Diploma in Gender-Based Violence from Salamanca University, and a Diploma in Central American Political Training Program “Agentes de Cambio” from Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
