Prior to her studies at Oxford, Martina obtained a Magister in International Relations (2009) from Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, and an MA in Community Integration and European Neighbourhood Policy from the University Champagne-Ardennes in Rheims, France (2010).
During her studies in Slovakia, she worked for the Daily SME Newspaper in Bratislava (2008-2010) as a Newscast Editor specialising in Slovak-Hungarian relations, EU policy and Slovak foreign policy issues.
While working as a Chairperson of the Editorial Board of the Slovak Atlantic Commission (2006-2008), an NGO addressing international security issues, she founded a security policy magazine, The Euro-Atlantic Quarterly. Since 2005, she has been actively involved in organising the annual Bratislava Security Forum, GLOBSEC.
Martina currently holds the role of Chief Counsellor in the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic.
