Before Oxford, Martina led international cooperation and regional integration initiatives from different government positions, including the role of Head of International Affairs and Cooperation of the National Administration for Public Education of Uruguay.
In this role she developed a single person unit into a complete department and negotiated and executed development projects through partnerships with national and foreign entities, international and regional organizations, embassies and development banks. Currently she serves as a consultant for OECD’s Development Centre, focusing her research on policy strategies to build back better after the COVID-19 crisis in LAC, through transformed international cooperation models.
Together with other female Latin-American WHT scholars, Martina is leading the creation of www.hacelafuerza.org, a regional platform to provide female-led mentorships to young women and advocate for gender equality in the region’s labour force.
