Femi is an economist with considerable experience in corporate finance, commercial banking, and sustainable systems research. His current interest lies in exploring practical ways to positively disrupt the commercial credit systems of African countries and spur sustainable development on the continent by making it much easier for deserving SMEs to access credit on reasonable terms. Femi has studied and worked in Africa and North America. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics (with honours) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He also studied for a Masters of Science with a focus on Computational Economics and Finance at the University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada), during which he built an adaptive model of a carbon market, and explored policy alternatives using that model. He was awarded a medal of merit for the quality of his graduate work. Besides structuring financing for businesses and researching climate change issues, Femi has also been involved with a number of social impact initiatives. He is an active member of Rotary International, and he currently sits on the governing board of the United Way of Lethbridge & Southwestern Alberta-a regional charity with several projects aimed at combating child poverty and community health issues.
