Patrick graduated with an MSc in Refugee & Forced Migration Studies at Oxford in 2013. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Political Science and Peace Studies in 2012. During his undergraduate degree, he focused on issues such as large-scale political violence, state fragility, and conflict resolution.
He believes that forced migration is a proving ground for the world’s collective commitment to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. While at Notre Dame, Patrick served as president of the student body and helped to lead advocacy on a variety of human rights issues, including calling for full implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Sudan, for curbs on the trade in conflict minerals, and for immigration reform founded upon the dignity of the migrant.
In the future, he would like to dedicate his career to the pursuit of a more just refugee and immigration policy.
