Tsionawit is the Deputy Chief of Party at the Danish Refugee Council in Ethiopia. She has worked in humanitarian organizations for over six years, conducting research and delivering assistance to refugees and migrants across the Horn of Africa. She now aims to become a policy maker, promoting migration for development and enhancing the protection of refugees and migrants in Ethiopia and beyond. Tsionawit founded and served as the president of Yenesew, a short term Covid-19 relief project using digital fundraising to support vulnerable households. She has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Sociology from the University of Tasmania.
