Victoria takes new position as Cities Economist
Victoria Delbridge (South Africa, MSc Economics for Development, Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann) Vicky has dedicated most of her academic studies to understanding the economics of food security as a means to achieving poverty alleviation in her home country. During her undergraduate years, Vicky was a founding project leader of two innovative community food gardening projects. Vicky will shortly be taking up a new position as a Cities Economist at the International Growth Centre’s ‘Cities that Work’ programme. Her job will entail translating economic research and practical insight into clear ‘best-practice’ policy guidance for city governance practitioners throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, focusing on four main themes- urban land use, infrastructure, municipal finance and employment in cities.
