Ashim is a mechanical engineering professional from Nepal who works on energy systems. He studied engineering at Kathmandu University and is currently working at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for Technical Cooperation in Asia and the Pacific. His role includes, but is not limited to, project review and design, as well as country programme framework preparation in close cooperation with the member states.

Ashim has also worked at the Grid Ville Program at his alma mater, where his duties ranged from technical and economic to sociopolitical aspects of energy systems. He believes Nepal has a significant untapped potential for renewable and clean energies, which the country can host for a green market. After obtaining an MSc in Energy Systems from Oxford, Ashim plans to return to Nepal to drive the formulation and implementation of policies relating to the energy sector, with a focus on a sustainable circular economy.
