Emmanuel Olweny graduated from Gulu University with a bachelor’s degree in Arts Education, specializing in Economics and Geography. He is currently teaching at Ocer Campion Jesuit College, a secondary school established in Northern Uganda providing quality education to the marginalized community affected by over two decades of LRA insurgency.

Emmanuel is passionate about water science and committed to ensuring comprehensive and inclusive access to clean water in his society. Studying at Oxford, a global leader in water research, will enable him to contribute to water decision-making locally, nationally, and globally. He intends to formulate and advocate for human-centred policies that ensure equal access to clean water and sanitation for marginalised groups, especially refugees, women, and people with disabilities.´
