Obaid is an engineering professional from Kashmir with over seven years of experience in the field of vehicular emissions and regulations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Crescent University, Chennai, India. Currently, he works at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). In his most recent assignment, he played a key role in implementing BS-VI In-Service Conformity regulation throughout India, establishing a robust system for monitoring in-use vehicle emissions. In the long run, Obaid wants to expedite the transition to cleaner, sustainable technologies for India in line with the SDG 13 agenda and aims to contribute toward making India carbon neutral before the proposed deadline of 2070.
