Rael graduated with an MSc in Latin American Studies in 2010, exploring his interest in labour, labour movements and young and immigrant workers’ rights, particularly in his native Peru.

In 2013, he was the Campaign Strategist and Researcher with MPI Digital, this is where his career in digital media developed. He is currently the Co-founder and Director of Wayka Peru, an online digital news platform in Latin America.

In addition, he is a lecturer at Michigan State University in the International Studies and Programs / Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
