Valery is passionate about using the power of digital culture for social transformation. She holds a BA in History from Pomona College, California and is a graduate of the African Leadership Academy. In her previous roles at Google and She Leads Africa, Valery worked at the intersection of technology and social justice advocacy to promote gender equality online. As a cultural entrepreneur, she has created online platforms such as Afrikandigitz and Afrikan Faktory to provide critical discourse around structures of power around race, gender and sexuality. Valery aims to pursue a career using technology platforms to amplify African voices globally.
Valery is currently working as a Technology Policy Associate at Ofcom, UK's communications regulator. She has previously worked as a Research Assistant (Women in Data Science and AI) at the Alan Turing Institute in London.
Valery is based in London, UK.
