Rodolfo’s direct experience of shortcomings in water delivery in rural Mexico inspired him to undertake an MSc in Water Science, Policy & Management as a Louis-Dreyfus Weidenfeld Scholar in 2014-15.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2013 from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with the Excellence Scholarship by the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education.
Whilst studying, Rodolfo worked at the Mexican Federation of Civil Engineering Colleges, where he worked to improve the civil engineering profession in Mexico. He has also worked as a consultant for the Water Commission of the State of Mexico. Rodolfo undertook a research internship at the Environmental Engineering Department of UNAM, where he focused on water management and reuse.
Currently, Rodolfo is working as the Innovation and Development Manager for the water utility of the Riviera Maya zone in the Mexican Caribbean. Supplying water and sanitation services for a population of over 1.1 million people, he oversees the development of water-energy projects with a special focus on the digitisation of the organisation.
He has also started up an engineering consultancy (aleaingenieria.com) focused on water and energy projects, mainly working with industrial and mining clients.
Rodolfo is based in Cancún, México.
