​Shohini gained an MSc in Law & Finance as Louis Dreyfus Weidenfeld Scholar. Prior to this, she received a first division degree for her undergraduate studies at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, in 2012. She has worked as an Executive Legal Officer under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in Noida, India. Previously, she was Legal Officer at the Bharat Pertoleum Corporation in Mumbai. She participated in the ‘Corporate Counsel Leadership Summit & Awards’ organized by the All India Bar Association, where her team won the “Best In-House Legal Team of the Year” award. Shohini was selected to represent India at the 6th International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) Mediation Competition at Paris in 2011.

Shohini is now an Assistant Professor of Research at the Jindal School of Banking and Finance. She was most recently working at the Esya Centre, a small innovation and technology think-tank based out of Delhi, where she was a Fellow, and leading the legal research team. Her research at the Esya Centre was focussed on the intersection of technology law and intellectual property. Prior to that she was a Senior Resident Fellow at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy at their ‘Corporate Law and Financial Regulation’ vertical, and has also worked for the Government of India as an energy lawyer. She has assisted the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Petroleum, financial sector regulators, and the Fifteenth Finance Commission on a number of socio-economic and legal matters.
